This weekend of great emotions has also ended at the Italian Fipsas outdoor freediving championship in Riva del Garda, organized by the ASD Gruppo Sommozzatori Riva Del Garda.
On September 7th the constant weight competition with fins took place, with Davide Carrera and myself winning the Italian title and the new Cmas world record of the specialty with depths of 92 and 76 meters respectively. Behind the Turin athlete were Pietro Antolini, from the Villafranca Diving Centre, and Giacomo Sergi, from ASD Mediterranea, both silver medalists with 77 metres. The women's podium was completed by Paola Zanaga, from Y-40, second with 55 meters and Gabriela Felicioni, from Apnea Academy Competition, third with 54.
Together with them, the Paralympic athletes Ilenia Colanero, from Lanciano and Fabrizio Pagani, from Terni, set new Cmas world records in constant weight with fins.
In the other category, Promotion, the Italian titles were won by Ivan Teodoro and Susanna Grassi, both diving to 40 metres, which is the maximum depth achievable for the category. Giovanni Monopoli and David Larcher completed the men's podium, placing second and third respectively, while among the women we find Giulia Fasani second and Erika Berardi third. Among the Italian titles awarded, also the junior one of Pietro De Ehrenstein Rouvroy, with a depth of 38 meters.
On September 8th it was the turn of constant buoyancy with monofin. And the winners have not changed: Carrera, who with 102 meters, in addition to winning the Italian title, also set the new Cmas world record of the specialty, with Martino Mostacci, silver with 90 meters and Francesco Pirrone, bronze, with 83.
In the women's field, with a depth of 81 metres, I managed to win my second Italian title, beating Zanaga, second with 74 meters and Silvia Mancarella, third with 57. In the Promotion category, the titles were won by Alessandro respectively Scarpa and Susanna Grassi, who reached 40 meters. Behind Scarpa came Giovanni Monopoli, second and Leo Sanna, third. On the second and third place of the women's podium, however, we have Erika Berardi and Giulia Fasani.
I would like to conclude by thanking my club, which supports me so much, the Riviera dei Fiori Sub Center and my sponsors, Cetma Composites, Biavati Mute, Bolzan, Aquastar, Wawe Hawaii, Zulupack, Freexperience, Wallien.
